Audio Solutions Question of the Week: When Would I Use the AT8175 Microphone Pop Filter?

Question: When would I use the AT8175 microphone pop filter?

Answer: Microphone pop filters have been used in recording studios and broadcast studios for a long time (see our previous article on the difference between a windscreen and a pop filter). And with the popularity of Audio-Technica 20 Series microphones, we decided to design a pop filter especially for these mics. Using the AT8175 pop filter in front of your 20 Series large-diaphragm condenser microphone will help reduce excessive plosives such as “p’s” and “b’s” without altering the tonality of the sound.

Audio Solutions Question of the Week: When Would I Use the AT8175 Microphone Pop Filter?

The AT8175 features a perforated steel mesh design and clips onto the front of a compatible microphone. The AT8175 can be used with the AT2020, AT2020USB-X, AT2035, AT2050, and AT2020USB+ microphones. The body design of those models will properly match up with this pop filter.
