Question: Why do I need to link multiple System 10 PRO Wireless Systems?
Answer: Audio-Technica’s System 10 PRO is a digital high-fidelity wireless system designed to provide performing musicians and presenters with advanced 24-bit operation, easy setup and clear, natural sound quality. Operating in the 2.4 GHz range, far from TV and DTV interference, System 10 PRO offers extremely easy operation and instantaneous channel selection.
The receiver and the transmitter are in constant communication with each other by means of a pairing process. Your system has been preconfigured at the factory to operate with no other pairing setup required; it will work out of the box. That is, your receiver and transmitter are already a digital pair, and they have been assigned the same System ID number.
Please note that the System ID is a number that is assigned to a paired receiver and transmitter for identification purposes only and does not correlate to actual transmitting frequencies. You may clear the pairing and assign any number that you wish.
When using multiple systems together it is strongly recommended that you link all of the chassis (up to five) using the R12 cable included with each system. Linking is not necessary if you are using only a single chassis.
Linking creates a much more stable environment in which all of the receivers work together, with all receiving, transmitting and frequency allocation coordinated to prevent audio dropouts and enable simultaneous use of up to 10 channels.
Use the RJ12 cable that is included with each system to link multiple chassis. Run the RJ12 cable from the OUT connector of the first chassis to the IN connector of the second chassis. It is very important to note that the RJ12 link cable has the same connector type as the RJ11 connector used on telephones. For this application you must use the RJ12 cable that is provided. RJ11 only has four wires, while the RJ12 has six, all of which are necessary. Also note that you cannot extend or use longer link cables.
