Role
As part of the Technical team, the job holder will manage the administration associated with the technical and legal responsibilities across the EMEA business to ensure compliance with legislation in all countries and support on-going development.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Ensure effective management and tracking of all administration required for the technical and legal responsibilities applicable to Audio-Technica Limited across the EU and UK to ensure that the EMEA business maintains compliance with legislative requirements in all countries.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant European Union and UK regulations, directives and standards applicable to our products and our wider business. Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to internal teams to ensure compliance throughout the product lifecycle and continued compliance with legislation across the EMEA business.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to product compliance and quality management, including technical files, test reports, declarations of conformity, ISO certificates, and labelling requirements.
- Maintain publicly available compliance documentation (DoCs and SoCs) on the Audio-Technica website in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain products classified as dangerous goods in the ERP system including the upload of MSDS and UN documentation. Advise Logistics, Warehouse and Purchasing personnel when new UN codes are introduced and which procedures they should follow.
- Ensure all chemical products are registered with the EU and UK chemicals agencies (such as ECHA), as required, using data provided by the supplier before importing into the region.
- Submit waste compliance reports for WEEE, Battery and Packaging in all relevant countries on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly basis, as required.
- Ensure that all products have accurate WEEE, Battery and Packaging data recorded in the ERP system.
- Obtain and provide declarations, certifications and test reports to customs authorities, as needed, to facilitate the importing and exporting of products throughout EMEA.
- Investigate and respond to any compliance incidents or non-conformities, implementing corrective and preventative actions as necessary.
- Collect required data, certificates and documentation for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) requirements and Corporate Sustainability Reporting.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, service and quality assurance, sales, logistics and operations to integrate compliance considerations into all stages of the product lifecycle.
- Develop and deliver trainings to internal teams on product compliance requirements, procedures, and best practices.
- Organise licences for all public demonstrations of wireless or licenced music playback as required across the EU and UK.
- Organise refresher Dangerous Goods courses at least once every two years, in accordance with the regulatory recommendations.
- Undertake any training or development required to ensure up to date technical and legal knowledge, continued ability to carry out the requirements of the job role and general management development.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:-
Essential
- Organised & methodical with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of databases
- Precise reader of legal documents
- Ability to develop & maintain a good understanding of CE, UKCA and EAC directives, standards and regulations and their relationship to our product offerings and our business.
- Excellent communicator with a high level of interpersonal skills
- High level analytical skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks, working under pressure to meet deadlines and customer needs
- Fluent in English language, both spoken and written
Desirable
- Understanding of Technical Specifications
- One or more of the following languages: German, Dutch, French, (Spanish)
- Comprehensive knowledge & understanding of Audio-Technica products & its distributed brands
