Why does my Bluetooth audio quality reduce when I'm in a call?

Bluetooth has improved hugely over the past few years to allow us to reproduce fantastic sounds when using the main stereo Bluetooth profile, but unfortunately the headset protocols are limited in bandwidth because the Bluetooth devices need to both send and receive within the same time-frame which effectively halves the bandwidth of the audio so that it can keep the conversation going smoothly.

These limitations mean that we're unable to reproduce the same high quality audio when using the headset profile as when the headphones are just being used to receive audio.  As soon as the profile switches back to the stereo profile, it will immediately enable all audio to be heard with the high quality that you would expect - unfortunately this is a trade-off that we have to be able to make for the headphones to be used wirelessly for communications.
