At Audio-Technica, we’re very excited to finally see Nintendo add Bluetooth® headphone and audio support to the Switch - it’s been a long time in the making since its launch in 2016.

This means that all of our best-selling headphones are now compatible with the Nintendo Switch for the ultimate on-the-go gaming experience. With the launch of the second incarnation of the M50xBT headphones, the M50xBT2, we wanted to share with you how easy it is to pair your Audio-Technica headphones with the Switch.

1. Ensure your Nintendo Switch is charged up and updated to the latest operating system

This will enable the Bluetooth® Audio features of the Switch and allow you to be able to pair your device. If you have not updated to the latest operating system, this feature is unlikely to be available.

2. Open the settings menu on the Nintendo Switch

3. Scroll down to the Bluetooth® Audio settings menu item

4. Push or select ‘Add Device’

5. Turn on your headphones and put them into pairing mode by pushing the power button for about 3 seconds

If your headphones are new, they will enter pairing mode for the first time. If they are not new, push and hold the power button for three seconds - the LED light on the left earcup will flash white.

6. On the Switch, select the headphones when they appear in the device list

7. The headphones should pair immediately and you’re good to go

Depending on the headphones you’re pairing, the Switch may be able to show the current battery charge level. A confirmation message will appear - push or click OK and the pairing process is complete.

8. Start playing!
