Audio-Technica x Melodic Distraction x NAM Sound System at We Out Here Festival

Melodic Distraction & NAM Sound System hit the road once again, after their successful outing at Gottwood Festival in June 2023, with a visual love letter that offers a nostalgic look-back at broadcasting radio from We Out Here Festival.

The ‘Visual Diary’ is an illustrated & animated journey that documents their time running a live radio station in an acclaimed UK festival. Showcasing a timeline from the setting up prior to the festival, right through till the last set of the weekend, offering a glimpse of their time in Dorset, UK. Together, Melodic Distraction & NAM Sound System brought a selection of North West artists and radio hosts, alongside a stella line up programmed by the festival - with the support of Audio-Technica, their technical partner.

Across the weekend, saw performances from Poly-Ritmo, Scarlett O’Malley, Me Gusta Collective, SNO, Village Cuts, Rishi, Léna C, Melt My Heart, Babylon Fox, Kindred Takeover and plenty more. All radio shows can be accessed via Melodic Distraction’s Mixcloud page.

Powered by Audio-Technica, the project saw Melodic Distraction convert a 40ft shipping container into a radio studio - using Audio-Technica Direct Drive Turntables, needles and carts, microphones and turntable weights. The radio station also served as a stage, with NAM providing a vintage JBL hifi sound system.
